David has been leading the development of one of the more intriguing products in munitions. In the framework of his job, David has been accompanying the system throughout its development and has been involved in collaborations both internal and external to the Division. His contribution to the synergy won him the award of outstanding employee that year. Being chosen as an outstanding employee was a pleasant surprise. I’m proud to be part of the project that brings revolutionary capabilities to infantry forces” he says.
My story
David grew up in Rehovot and studied electrical engineering at the Technion University. After a track of developing communications systems in high-tech companies for some years, he joined Elbit Land & IMI about six years ago. “I was looking for my next challenge and believe I found it at the company,” he says. For the last four years he has been involved with one of the Division’s flagship projects. “This system changes the activity of tactical forces on the ground at the level of the infantry brigade, enabling accurate hits on precise targets, without the external assistance of other forces,” he explains.
In his work, David has been accompanying the system from the stage of development to demonstration to potential clients. “The project itself is multi-disciplinary in every way,” he says. “It includes software, hardware, mechanics, GNC, aerodynamics, explosives, and propellant materials. The result is a source of pride because the artillery forces had nothing like it, especially because of the way the product integrates with the clients.”
David starts his day with a 10-kilometer run, and also participates in 100-kilometer marathons. “Running has become part of my routine for the last 15 years. I get up at five-thirty. I love the early morning quiet and can rewire my brain before the day begins,” he says. He has other hobbies too: over the past few years, he has studied goldsmithing and worked with precious metals. “As a father to four girls, there’s a clientele for my jewelry,” he laughs.
