“I love inspecting complex systems. I handle the integration, ensuring that this whole orchestra plays beautifully. My greatest gratification is to understand the system and see how it operates in the field.”

“The main thing that brings me to work with a smile is the privilege to engage in new complex and interesting tasks every day,” says Tarko Wuvoo, head of a product inspection team. “Each system consists of 13 assemblies. I handle the integration, ensuring that this whole orchestra plays beautifully. My greatest gratification is to understand the system and see how it operates in the field.”

My story

Tarko’s journey at Elbit began in 2009, as a quality inspector. “I came to know Elbit through the army, when I was in charge of cameras at observation posts in southern Israel,” he says. “We would take the devices from Elbit and that was my first introduction with the company. After I became a quality inspector, I continued onto various roles; and from 2018, I have been head of a product inspection team, in a systems development department.”

With a small experienced team, Tarko’s mission is to carry out quality assurance for the purpose of certifying products from the assembly line, which provides a solution for immense demand. “We inspect all the devices and all the assemblies individually – and then together,” Tarko explains. “One of the most exciting moments for me was during a surprise drill on the production line, with the participation of the customer. We were concerned, but received amazing feedback. I was tremendously proud of the team’s work.”

Tarko immigrated to Israel at age 11, from Ethiopia. “I have a lot of memories from there, mainly of simple games with stones. We didn’t even have a ball to play with. We made the journey on foot. Acclimation to Israel wasn’t simple mainly for my parents; there were a lot of gaps in language and culture. Today my wife and I try to preserve the food, the traditions and the holidays.”

Tarko is a father and family man, and his children always come first. “I try to leave work at a reasonable time twice a week and devote weekends to the children. The truth is that even football has to be set aside to give me more time with them.” Sport is a source of inspiration to him, even a model for emulation. “After my wife and children, my biggest love is Maccabi Tel Aviv,” he says with a smile. “I look at players like Eran Zahavi (a famous football player in Israel), see the hard work they do and  think, there’s a lot in sports that applies to my life too.”

They say about me

"Tarko works in full cooperation with the line manager, and with high synergy with the development and engineering people. Tarko has excellent human relations and instils his team with that spirit, for the good of the company's goals."
