For Yossi Mizrahi, there is no greater thrill than working on the world’s most cutting-edge technology. “Our circuit boards are installed in fighter pilots’ helmet systems,” he explains. “It’s the peak of technology, a field which Elbit spearheads. These innovations are a huge source of pride.”
My story
Yossi came to Elbit by virtue of the same feelings he experienced protecting his country during his military service. “I graduated electronical engineering and was looking for work. In the army, we used Elbit’s systems, so it was a natural choice for me – to go to a company that brings pride to Israel,” he says. “What attracted me was dealing with national security and making a real contribution to Israel.”
Yossi’s job is to lead the electronic assembly department, which has four teams and 47 employees. “Our mission and purpose as an assembly plant is to set an example as a plant for models for this division and for Elbit in general, help in the engineering and production of circuit boards and shorten processes, so that they can connect their systems, compete in tenders and win projects. We deal with the entire chain of production, from models through commercial production, all the way to working closely with clients.”
One of Yossi’s peaks at Elbit was becoming head of the department. “Four years ago, I went from being the customer service manager to the manager of electronic assemblies to taking charge of amazing and professional people. Suddenly, I had to refine the product and follow production from start to finish: from the stage of the model all the way to the client. This full perception of the process, from start to end, and the ability to affect the model and commercial production allows me to improve my managerial and business skills.”
On his downtime, Yossi likes to travel in nature and sail. “I love this country, and spend a lot of time hiking, but the sea is my true passion – every once in a while, I go sailing with my close friends,” he says. Additionally, Yossi often volunteers in his children’s school, and recently, in a project done on behalf of Elbit, he helped build a community playground for families with special needs children.
